National Recognition for Hospital Partner

CyberKnife Center of Chicago is proud to announce that, for the second year in a row, Edward-Elmhurst Health has been named one of the nation’s 15 Top Health Systems by IBM Watson Health.  In addition, Elmhurst Hospital was named to IBM Watson Health’s list of 100 Top Hospitals in the country.

The Watson Health 15 Top Health Systems study has been honoring the nation’s leading healthcare organizations since 2008.  The study-delivers a rigorous, aggregate analysis of system metrics from individual hospital data.  That analysis is used to identify the 15 top-performing systems in the nation, according to a balanced scorecard of measures derived from publicly available clinical, operational and patient perception of care data.  The health system scorecard is based on the 100 Top Hospitals® national balanced scorecard methodologies and focuses on four performance domains:

  • Inpatient outcomes
  • Extended outcomes
  • Operational efficiency
  • Patient experience

Edward-Elmhurst is only the third Illinois health system to be recognized as a 15 Top Health System since the program began.

“We have definitely established Edward-Elmhurst as a high-performing health system.  In fact, it’s hard to remember a day when we weren’t all working together toward the same goals of clinical excellence, efficiency and a personalized consumer experience,” says Mary Lou Mastro, System CEO, Edward-Elmhurst Health.  “While these past few months have been very challenging, it’s been our strength and unity as a system that have pulled us through.  Every day I see evidence of the incredible work we’ve put into earning these awards. Honors such as these do not come easily, but it’s such a great feeling to know that we are being singled out for our efforts to create safe, seamless, and personal care for our patients and our community.”

CyberKnife Center of Chicago is honored to be a part of an award-winning health system and located on the campus of one of the top 100 hospitals in the country that consistently brings value to the patients we serve in our communities.  We congratulate our fellow Edward-Elmhurst team members on a job well done!
